Make-A-Wish Singapore files a police report on text message scam
Make-A-Wish Singapore has received a report about a chain text message by a 13-year-old child, Annakay Brown, who claims that Make-A-Wish will donate $0.07 towards his/her medical treatment each time the message is forwarded. We would like to inform members of the public that this is not a legitimate wish, and we do not have a registered wish child by the name of Annakay Brown.
At Make-A-Wish Singapore, we have a team of wish-granters to help fulfill the wishes of children who are medically certified by doctors to be suffering from a life-threatening condition. We do not solicit for support from members of the public to assist in the procurement of medical treatment. We want to reassure members of the public that Make-A-Wish Singapore does not condone such activities and a police report has since been filed. Donations to the organization can only be made via our website, Giving SG or Give Asia.
Members of the public are advised to delete the message and not to forward the message to their contacts. For any questions, please contact Make-A-Wish Singapore on 65-6334-9474 or [email protected]
